Application Process
- Sign Up: Authenticate your identity through mobile OTP and email verification.
- Ensure Passport Validity: Your passport should be valid for at least six months at the time of application.
- Prepare Required Documents:
- Passport Size Photograph: Recent (not older than six months), with a plain white background.
- Scanned Copy of Passport: Including the front page with personal particulars and the last page with family details.
- Proof of Present Address: Acceptable documents include Election Photo Identity Card, recent utility bills, driving license, spouse’s passport copy (if applicable), or parent’s passport copy for minors. Note: Aadhaar card is not acceptable as proof of address.
- Scanned Copy of OCI Card: Both the first page (biographic details) and last page (family and address details).
- Submit Application: After submission, you’ll receive an acknowledgment on your registered mobile number and email address.
- Verification: Your information will be verified through official channels.
- Biometric Enrollment: Upon approval, schedule an appointment to provide biometrics (fingerprints and facial image) at a designated international airport or FRRO office in India.
Important Considerations
- Application Rejection: Applications may be rejected for incorrect information, concealed material facts, unclear documents or photographs, or failure to provide current residential address.
- Processing Time: The registration process may take up to one month.
- Passport Changes: If your enrolled passport expires, is lost, stolen, or damaged, you must reapply and complete the necessary formalities, including biometric enrollment.
